In November 2006, Sichuan UniversityandWoosong University, South Korea, jointlyestablished the Confucius Institute at Woosong University. In May 2007, the Confucius Institute at Woosong University was inaugurated, makingitthe firstone of its kindbuilt by Sichuan University. As a Confucius Institute established earlier in South Korea, the Confucius Institute at Woosong University has been dedicated to the promotion of Chinese language education and culture in the Daejeon area of South Korea. It offers not onlyChinese language interest-oriented classes andHSK tutorial classes for all walks of life, but alsoon-campusChinese language programs. Furthermore, it haspartneredwith local primary and secondary schools to offer “immersive” Chinese classes and education CEO training. Its outstanding contributions to the cultural exchange between China and South Korea has been unanimously recognized by the Chinese and South Korean governments and people. The Confucius Institute at Woosong University hasbecome an excellent platform for learning Chinese language and experiencing Chinese culture in the Daejeon and Chungnam regions of Korea.
